Zeus

Zeus is the king of the gods and ruler of Mount Olympus. He is the god of the sky, thunder, and justice, often depicted wielding a lightning bolt as his weapon. Zeus is the son of the Titans Cronus and Rhea and is the youngest of his siblings, whom he saved by overthrowing their father.

As the supreme deity, Zeus governs the heavens and maintains order among gods and humans. He is known for his wisdom but also for his numerous love affairs, which resulted in many divine and heroic offspring, such as Athena, Apollo, Artemis, and Hercules. Zeus symbolizes authority, power, and the balance of justice in Greek mythology.

Apollo Properties

Apollo, the son of Zeus and Leto,  god of light, music, poetry, medicine, and prophecy. Known for his beauty and harmony, he was also an excellent archer. Apollo played the lyre, led the Oracle of Delphi, and symbolized light and truth in mythology. He represents balance and artistic inspiration.

Hera Properties

Hera goddess of marriage, women, and family. She is the wife and sister of Zeus and queen of the Olympian gods. Known for her beauty and majestic presence, Hera is often depicted as regal and dignified, wearing a crown and holding a scepter.

Although she represents marriage, Hera is famous in myths for her jealousy and vengeful actions against Zeus’s lovers and their children. Despite this, she is revered as a protector of women and a symbol of fidelity and domestic harmony.

Rodon Properties

Rodon, also known as the God of the Sea, is a significant figure. He is considered the protector of sailors and the seas. According to legends, Rodon built his fortresses near the coast, such as the Castle of Rozafa and Rodon Castle (also known as Cape of Rodon) along the Adriatic Sea.

Rodon is often depicted as a divine figure connected to the sea's power and nature, symbolizing the close relationship Albanians have with the sea and the myths surrounding this vital natural element.

Ares Properties

Ares  god of war, representing the brutal and chaotic aspects of battle. He is the son of Zeus and Hera and is often portrayed as fierce, aggressive, and relentless in his pursuit of conflict. Unlike Athena, who represents strategic warfare, Ares embodies the raw violence and bloodlust of combat.

Despite his strength, Ares was not widely revered in Greek mythology, as his actions often brought destruction and suffering. He is frequently depicted with armor, a spear, and a shield, accompanied by figures like Phobos (Fear) and Deimos (Terror), his sons. Ares symbolizes the unrestrained and destructive nature of war.

Hercules Properties

Hercules, known as Heracles  mythology, is a legendary hero famed for his incredible strength and courage. He is the son of Zeus and Alcmene, a mortal woman, making him a demigod. Hercules is best known for completing the Twelve Labors, a series of seemingly impossible tasks assigned to him as penance for killing his family in a fit of madness caused by Hera.

The labors included slaying the Nemean Lion, capturing the Golden Hind of Artemis, and retrieving the Apples of the Hesperides. Hercules embodies resilience, bravery, and the human struggle to overcome adversity, earning his place as one of mythology’s greatest heroes.

Aphrodita Properties

Aphrodite  goddess of love, beauty, desire, and fertility. According to myth, she was born from the sea foam near the island of Cyprus, making her connection to the ocean a symbol of her ethereal beauty and allure. In another version, she is the daughter of Zeus and the Titaness Dione.

Aphrodite is often depicted as a stunningly beautiful woman, sometimes accompanied by doves, roses, or seashells. She played a pivotal role in many myths, including the Trojan War, where her influence over love and desire was central. Aphrodite represents passion, romance, and the creative power of love.
